Symptoms from the coronavirus are the same as most other viruses and bacteria circulating at this time of year. People with immunocompromised conditions/medications have a higher risk of more serious illness with all types of infections, not just coronavirus.
Unfortunately as of 3/9/20, our community has very limited testing. Without the ability to specify this infection we are taking the universal precautions for viral infections outlined below and as recommended by the following sources:
CDC webpage: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/prevention-treatment.html
SB County Public health: https://countofsb.org/phd/dcp/novel-corona-virus.sbc#comm
Cottage information line: 805-324-9019
For mild to moderate symptoms:
Fever, tiredness, cough, body aches, congestion
Please stay home and rest. Eat healthily and drink a lot of fluids.
Take Tylenol for body aches and fever.
For more severe symptoms in addition to the above:
Shortness of breath, temperature over 101.5.
Treat this as described above and call the office for further recommendations.
Thank you,
